Master Kildare was first to show and in the first two furlongs was the pioneer, but when the field had settled it was left to Glengarry to cut out the donkey work. Fully 6 furlongs from home Potentate took up the running and was still the clear leader at the Red House, but as they rounded the bend and approached the home straight Viscount Falmouth's pair dominated. Jannette, making her move on the rails, forged to the front with ease, coming home by a comfortable 4 lengths in 3 minutes 20.5 seconds, with just half a length separating Childeric and Master Kildare. Jannette had Stockwell blood in her veins and had won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood as a 2 year old, the Epsom Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks before the St Leger, and also the Champion Stakes at Newmarket. | Over Round 109% |
